CONTEST RULES

1.
NUMBER OF ENTRIES: Three (3) poems per contestant, but no more than (1) poem in any one category.

2. LINE LIMIT: 42 lines or fewer per poem (spaces between stanzas do not count as lines.)

3. CATEGORIES:
A. California.
B. Journeys
C. Love.
D. Mystery
E. Nature
F. War and Peace
G. Theme: Change
H. Poet’s Choice

4. DEADLINE:
Postmarked no later than Wednesday, August 15th.

5. WHO MAY ENTER: All Circle members (including out-of-state); nonmember California residents.

6. FEE: No fee to Circle Members. $5 fee per poem (3 poems limit) for nonmember California residents.

7. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS. POEMS MUST:
A. Have a title.
B. Be original, in English, and not have appeared in any juried publication.
C. Not have been award winners in any previous contest (honorable mentions acceptable).
D. Be submitted in triplicate, i.e. three (3) clear typewritten copies of each poem on standard size
8 1/2 x 11 typing paper (clear photocopies acceptable).
E. Include the category of each poem typed in the upper right corner of all copies.
F. Include ON ONE COPY ONLY in upper left corner the typed name, address, phone number
and status (member or nonmember) of the poet.
G. Be mailed in one single envelope with sufficient postage.
H. Nonmembers: Make all checks payable to Ina Coolbrith Circle.

Keep copies of your poem(s) asn none will be returned to you: Authors retain all rights. Decisions of judges are final.

Winning Poems will be read and Awards given at the ICC National Poetry Day Banquet on Saturday, November 3, 2007 at  at Redwood Recreation Center, 3883
